PUPPY PLAY-n-TRAIN - Play, Train, Socialize (Approx age groups10-16 weeks & 16-32 weeks)
***Puppy classes are always on-going unless otherwise noted, please check our Home for information on cancelled classes.***

Cost: $18.00/per class or prepay and save 4 weeks for $60.00! Rescue/Shelter Puppies prepay for 4 classes and get 2 extra free classes!

***Please bring your puppy to class on an empty stomach if possible along with their dinner kibble and some soft treats. Your puppy should wear a flat buckle, snap collar or harness and leash. Please also bring along your puppy's medical records with proof of vaccination***
Puppy Play Groups are held off-leash in a fun and easy going environment, where your puppy gets the benefit of mini-training sessions, for basic skills such as taking treats politely, name response and coming when called, sit, down, walking mannerly on-leash and how to shake-paw and more. In between mini training sessions, your puppy will enjoy play sessions that include lots of socialization with other puppies while being exposed and handled by new people and children. Puppies are divided into 2 groups determined by age, personality, size and energy level.

LIFE SKILLS - Fun, Fast Results (Ages 10 weeks & up)
Cost: $140.00 total - Discounts available for rescue and adopted dogs!

The Life Skills course is limited to 4-6 dog families/per 6 week course. Classes are held in a fun and relaxed environment, where you and your dog will learn practical skills like coming when called, sit, down, walking mannerly on-leash and how to stay. We also cover topics like handling and grooming as well as prepare the dogs for vet visits. At the end of every class you will learn a new game or trick like shake-a-paw, roll over, sit pretty and more.
The Life Skills course is 6 weeks in length and includes the following;
- Life Skills Training Guide with easy step by step instructions
- Life Skills Loot bag with a clicker and some other goodies for you and your dog
- Graduation Certificates

AGILITY FOUNDATION - Take Your Training Further!
Cost: $125.00 total
Course Length: 6 weeks

Lay a strong foundation for a balanced K9 athlete during this six-week program. Develop the bond and focus your dog will need to be successful in any sport while learning basic agility skills that promote fun and safety. Learn how to motivate and calm your dog, creating an on/off switch that will help you in dog sports and everyday life.

ADVANCED AGILITY - Take Your Training Further!
Cost: $100.00 total
Course Length: 6 weeks

Once you have completed Foundation I or if you have some agility experience (dogs should enjoy jumps and tunnels), continue to bond and have fun with your dog while you learn how to efficiently navigate short sequences of obstacles. Learn the newest and fastest way to teach your dog how to weave and develop solid contact skills.

Obstacle Familiarization & Handling
Cost: $20.00/per class - Max 8 participants per class!
Summer 2010 Class Dates: July 9th, 16th - August 6th, 20th - September 3rd
Class Time: Fridays 6:30-7:30pm
Run an AAC Starters Course
Cost: $10.00/per 2 minutes on-course OR $5.00/per 2 minutes on-course for participants of Obstacle Familiarization & Handling the same day. Max 15 participants per run!
Summer 2010 Class Dates: Sept 3rd (Standard)
Time: Fridays 7:45-8:45
Run an official AAC Starters course. Dog and handler teams will have 2 minutes to work on sequences within the course and/or run the entire course. There will be a "judge" so the dogs will get used to having someone move out in the field with them. Participants are required that everyone ring crew at least one course on order to gain experience with the responsibilities involved in a trial-like environment. The rules will be reviewed for each course and all participants be able to walk the course for five minutes before the runs begin.

DISC DOG BASICS (Retrieve Proficiency Test Preparation) In Association with Jane Holloway
Cost: $75.00

Preregistration required! Only 6-8 dogs/families are accepted to each Disc Dog Basics course
Disc Dog Foundation Course. This will be a fun and fast paced 4 week course, focusing on teaching handlers to become accurate throwers of the disc. If your dogs retrieval ability is somewhat lacking, handlers will learn to shape a retrieve and quick disc release, as well as a few disc tricks. Course goal will be to give handlers the tools to successfully prepare to complete a retrieval proficiency test in order to compete in a distance class at a disc trial.

Recreational Tracking - October 3, 16 & 17, 2010!
Silvia Jay www.voice4dogs.com will be presenting Nose Work & Tracking on October 3, 16 & 17, 2010. Fresh from Steve White's http://i2ik9.com/ seminar with the CAPDT conference held in Calgary earlier this year, Silvia is excited to share her knowledge.

Adina MacRae and Silvia Jay www.voice4dogs.com will be presenting a day long seminar on Dog Communication & Dog Play on Saturday, September 18 OR Sunday, September 19.
The morning will be spent at Happy Hounds Doggy Daycare, on Barrington Street, learning about dog communication signals and dog play, in the afternoon everyone will head to Seaview Park for field observations.
Space is very limited to 20 persons each day - no dogs. Fee: $ 75.00 tax included.
